The first song written after Howard Ashman passed away and major changes were made to Disney’s Aladdin story. Alan Menken wrote both the music and the lyrics. It’s a nice song… not quite lively enough for Aladdin, I think. (Raise your hand if when it starts, you think A While New World is going to start.)

The following unused sequence was an early concept for Sequence 18A; Bad Times at Pride Rock. In the final film, Scar introduces the Hyenas into the Pridelands immediately following Mufasa’s death. In this version, he waits until a time when he is challenged by the lionesses.

This deleted scene, also in storyboards, is of the preparations for Pocahontas’ wedding to Kocoum. It features a modified reprise of Steady as the Beating Drum, but was cut out for pacing reasons.
