Book Spotlight: The Art of Hercules: The Chaos of Creation
From Amazon:

The Disney studio returns to form with its take on that ancient superhero, Hercules. … Like the book tie-ins to other recent Disney animated features, this handsome coffee-tabler traces the new film’s history and production with hundreds of color and black-and-white illustrations and commentary from its creators. The volume’s highlight is a section of drawings by production designer Gerald Scarfe, best known for his work on the film of the rock group Pink Floyd’s album The Wall.

I own this book, and it’s one of my favorite art books. The commentary is fun, informational, but it’s never boring or bogged down. The art is gorgeous and well-printed, and it’s plentiful, especially considering there still hasn’t been much in the way of special features about Hercules! The book is 200 pages long, filled with  tidbits like early production notes, storyboards, and just about anything you’d like to know about the production of Hercules! It’s out of print and must be bought secondhand - however, the good news is that recently the secondhand price has gone down, so it’s more afforable lately that it used to be. I highly recommend it for any Disney fan, especially those of us who adore Hercules! If you’re looking to buy the book secondhand, I recommend the following sites:EbayAmazon.comAlibris (Used books, you can use Paypal)Abebooks (Used books, Paypal use is on a seller-by-seller basis)
